Cases in Family Court

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

On April 2, a former Boys and Girls Club was broken into by teenagers and young adults ranging from age 14 to 20. Of course, those that are under 18 will go to court with a NJ family law attorney.

What is strange about this case is they were caught by YouTube. That is right, YouTube videos show the group making Molotov cocktails as well as throwing them. Then standing back and watching the flames as they rose as high as 20 feet in the air. It also showed each of their faces and then had credits listing their names. They will each be charged with arson and burglary. Either lawyers going to have a hard or easy time defending them.

A Bergen County family lawyer had an easy job in family court when three teenagers pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter. They beat a 53-year-old street musician to death in his home. They were sentenced on April 22.

A New Jersey woman is being held on $1.5 million bail for allegedly suffocating her debilitated husband to death with a plastic bag. Maybe she should have gotten a New Jersey divorce lawyer instead. It would have been easier. (Sorry, bad joke I know.)

Her 50-year-old husband, who had suffered a stroke several months ago, was found dead in his bed. She had been searching for an in-home caretaker for her husband because she could not take care of him herself. She is reported to have said that her husband lost his will to live because of his condition.
