Are You Pressure Proof?

Monday, April 27th, 2009

If you are like most real estate women, you are under pressure every day just to earn a living. You need to go out find a buyer and sell property every day. That means you are under pressure every single day. How do you relieve that pressure? You sell something. However, that only relieves the pressure for one day. Here are 3 things that you can do to “pressure proof” your business.

Trust yourself! You need to trust not only your knowledge but also your ability to sell. You have put in a lot of time and effort into learning about your business. You have gained insight from other agents on how to sell a home. You have acquired abilities that make you able to convince a buyer that this house is right for them. Believe in yourself! You have a plan of action, so follow it.

Practice, practice, practice! Remember the old saying, “Practice makes perfect.” Practice your presentation that you give potential buyers. You already know the usual objections that a buyer may have so practice your replies to those objections as well. When a salesperson, of any kind, can answer a question or objection instantly, it can give a buyer confidence in that salesperson. The buyer is going to think, “This person knows what they are talking about.” Before you know it, your presentation will be better and your sales will increase.

Develop the “runner’s high”. This is an endorphin rush that you get when you do something well and you enjoy doing it. Endorphins create a sense of well-being and happiness when they are in excess. Unbelievably, your brain remembers this elevated state and actually motivates you to repeat the activities that gave you that sense of well-being. That sense of well-being comes every time you make a sale. This is where practice makes perfect comes in. The more you practice, the more sales you make and more endorphins will be produced.

If more women in real estate would use these 3 things, real estate sales would increase across the nation.
